The Tour
< class="pagetext"> The Kiwanis Club of Person County invites you to be part of the fourth Mayo Lake Cyclysm Bicycle Tour. Join over 100 cyclists on a scenic journey through rural North Carolina and Virginia. The ride will begin and end at the Amphitheatre at Mayo Lake Park in Person County. Riders will cycle through gently rolling farmlands on the way to beautiful autumn views of Mayo Lake. Choose between route distances of 25K (15.5 miles), 50K (31 miles) and a more challenging ride of 75K (46.5 miles) for experienced cyclists.

Mayo Park Fall Festival This year’s tour is part of the Mayo Park Fall Festival. The Person County Recreation Arts & Parks Department invites all cyclists and their families to enjoy a day of fun in the great outdoors at Mayo Lake.
The Mayo Park Fall Festival has activities for the entire family including:
• Mayo Lake Cyclysm Bicycle Tour
• 5K Race in the Park Trail Run
• Canoe / Kayak Tour of Mayo Lake
• Canoe / Kayak Rentals
• Horseshoe Tournament
Free Concert - Mayo Park Amphitheatre at 12:00 noon featuring Bid Daddy Rhythm & the Heavyweights

Free Concert Overlooking Mayo Lake, the Mayo Park Amphitheatre provides a beautiful venue for an outdoor fall concert. Bring your lawn chair, and enjoy the sounds of classic soul, beach music, old rock & roll, blues, southern rock 70’s and 80’s retro and more. With a wide variety of music each show brings something different, but it’s always fun, fresh and entertaining. For a good time call Big Daddy Rhythm & the Heavyweights! Mayo Lake after the tour.

The Kiwanis International Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the children of the world. Person County United Way, Inc. is the primary funding source for 15 local non-profit agencies which provide essential services to the citizens of Person County including crisis intervention, disaster relief, helping children and youth succeed, and promoting health and wellness. You can ride as an individual or as part of a team. Either way you will gain a sense of personal accomplishment by accepting the physical challenge of riding 75K and the satisfaction of knowing that you have helped make life better for hundreds of local children by raising funds for local United Way agencies. And you’ll have a great time doing it! The Mayo Lake Cyclysm is a great event for friends, families and cyclists of all abilities.

Forming a team is a great way to build teamwork among employees and friends while demonstrating your community involvement. It’s also easy.
· Organize four or more cyclists from your workplace, church, school, civic club or family and friends
· Choose a team captain and team name
· Set a team fund-raising goal
· Register your team with the Kiwanis Club of Person County
· Start collecting donations to the United Way and qualify for team and individual prizes
