Jayne Bremer, Executive Director/CPO
Jayne Bremer is the Executive Director/ Chief Professional Officer of Person County United Way. Jayne brings an extensive background of corporate, nonprofit and community involvement to her role.
Jayne received her BS in Community Health and Education from East Carolina University in 1979. After teaching for few years, Jayne became a corporate meeting planner with Conklin Company in 1982. During her tenure with Conklin she was asked to serve on the United Way Employee Campaign committee to raise funds for the Minneapolis United Way. The next year she served as the Employee Campaign Coordinator Co-Chair. After taking time to raise her children she returned to workforce as a Field Director for Pines of Carolina Girl Scout Council. During her time with the Girl Scouts she became a volunteer for the Person County United Way.
A committed community advocate, Jayne has served in leadership roles for numerous organizations in Person County. Since being named as Executive Director in September 2002, Jayne has built community confidence in the United Way’s mission and impact priorities. Under Jayne’s leadership, United Way has shifted from an organization that simply made grants to one that truly makes change. Jayne believes we need to break the cycle of poverty in our community by focusing on the root causes of our most serious challenges. By defining ourselves more by the problems we are trying to solve than the organization or constituency we represent, Jayne looks to make United Way the table around which the community, business, and government gathers to make it happen.
